Marion Hislen is a curator specializing in photography, with a DESS in
sociology. In 2011, she founded the Circulation(s) festival which promotes young photography
Europe and which attracts more than 50,000 visitors each year. At the same time, from 2011 to
2015, she directed cultural action in the book and photography sectors at Fnac and managed their photographic collection. In 2005, she founded Fetart, an association for the promotion of young photographic artists, following the organization of the Paris-Beijing exhibition, the first retrospective in France dedicated to contemporary Chinese art. She has organized numerous exhibitions, notably at the Centquatre as part of the festival, and in Arles during the Rencontres. She discovered many artists now recognized on the international scene. In 2017, she was appointed Artistic Director of the Rencontres Photographiques du 10e (Paris) and participates in numerous juries and photographers' projects. Francoise Nyssen, Ministry of Culture, appointed Marion Hislen to the post of delegate to the
photography within the Directorate General for Artistic Creation from 2018 to 2021.
